The bond between my sister and I wasn't initially one of closeness. Sharing deeply about matters felt unnatural and we were often at odds with each other. The Covid-19 pandemic transformed our dynamic in surprising ways amidst the challenges of lockdown. 2020 was significant as I embarked on my A-level coursework, which involved taking self-portraits for the first time. Hoping to look beautiful, my sister offered to tie French braids. Four years later, inspired by my sister's tender gesture, this project acknowledges our evolving sisterhood as I braided my sister's hair, despite hesitations rooted in past experiences.
